| Good Advice |
Before you jump into the deep end take the time to read the below. It is good advice that I have learned from personal experience of via foreign friends/tourists. Don’t make unnecessary painful mistakes, learn from the mistakes and perils of others.
Bars with Sexy girls outside
This is the oldest trick in the book and the one most foreigners fall for. Friendly girls will call out to you as you walk by saying “hey strong man, hey sexy man come in and have a drink”. The drink will be expensive by western standards, but you have company, you have a sexy girl to drink with. Next will be “you nice man, buy me a drink”. It will be a very expensive drink because this sexy girl is employed to get you into the bar and then get you to buy as many drinks as possible. The drink will finish quickly and the talk will be about you, where you are from etc. You think you are about to get lucky tonight and you are buying another drink for yourself and for you new friend. After two rounds the conversation will usually go from very warm with the idea of going somewhere after the girl has finished her shift to “I don’t understand, you want another drink”. Or “no I not do that, I just take and be friends”. You have a “hard on” and have purchased 4-6 drinks but got nowhere. You leave slightly frustrated. Remember it’s Bali, not Bangkok, chances are the girl is working for the boss and not for herself. Her job is to get you to buy drinks and she gets paid commissions on the drinks you purchase.
Taxi/motorbike Driver–Pimps.
These guys are everywhere and can range from friendly to pushy or creepy. If you are a single guy walking down the street be prepared to be approached by these guys several times a day. What sane person would seek their services, one who does not know any better. Most of these guys are harmless but others have been known to rob and harm tourists. I have heard so many true stories of tourists lead off somewhere dark and remote and get themselves in a bad situation. Remember he might be half your size and twice your age but when six of his friends appear from know where with sharp objects you are in trouble.
Again most of these guys are harmless but what girl are they introducing you to. Someone who most probably is forced into this profession and who hates her job. Not exactly the type of person you want to spend time with. If she speaks English consider yourself lucky. Communication is very important, it connects people and can make a potentially pleasant experience great or terrible based on the ladies ability to communicate. The lady may be forced to engage in unprotected sex and these could pose a serious health risk to herself and future clients. Does this sound like fun……..No, don’t come back from holiday with a tropical disease. Is the service cheap, slightly cheaper than what we charge but the service is worlds apart.
Redlight Areas
Just don’t go to the local red light areas. They are cesspools run by gangsters and very desperate women. Just thinking about these places scares me, full or diseases, underage workers and very intimidating.
Massage Girls
These are fantastic if you want a really good foot, neck or back massage. Very relaxing but if you want something more memorable you will soon find the girl saying, “no I don’t do that kind of massage” Your impression outside was she did that kind of massage and that is why you took the massage, again another disappointment but I will give them credit, a good relaxing massage. A bit more money and you could have called us and had pleasant memories for many years.
Specialized Massage Parlors
Yes you can get a happy massage if you know where to look. Its good but not that happy. First you will pay 100,000 to have a standard massage and that is what you will get. If you want something in addition to this will be prepared to pay another 200000 300000 and not for a full service, thats just a handshake. Again slightly cheaper that our service but worlds apart.
Brothels
Yes they exist, some are OK and some are very scary/intimidating. Typically there will be a room filled with anywhere from 8-20 girls. Some of these girls look very young, disturbingly young. All seem keen to gain your service and most brothels have air conditioned rooms. Most of the girls speak basic English but communication is a struggle. Things are looking good, you look like you are going to have some fun and you are but not that much fun. The girl will not look at you, will want the experience to be over very soon asking you to hurry up and the positions will usually be very limited. I would give this service a 2.5 rating out to 5 being generous, not bad but a lot of room for improvement. The price, about the same as what we are charging when you include the taxi fee, room fee etc. The girls are paid very poorly, why would they enjoy their job.
Other Escort Agencies
Just because someone has a nice website does not give them the right to charge rates that would be considered high in Europe or the US. An escort agency in Bali should be at least half the price of Europe. Australian or the US. I have seen escort agencies charging rates starting at 2 milllion for one hour. I have seen agencies trying to get tourists to stay in deluxe hotels and villas and including a lady friend in the deal charging a massive price tag. Everything should be relative to the place the agency is operating in, which is in this case Bali. The price should not suddenly increase five fold because you are from another country. We want you to have a pleasant time, one which is memorably and kind to your pocket. That is why people choose us. |
